Samantha strikes a pose holding her favorite new snack - crispy chicken drums. Chips that taste like chicken. What could be better?

It's been a great week with our friends Bobby, J.R., and Greg. They visited schools and held baseball clinics. More guys and younger kids have been coming to the baseball practices - yahoo!

"Hey, Mommy. Where are we headed?"

A picture of Caleb and his new balloon. Sadly, the two later parted ways at the park after Mommy thought she had tied it securely to the stroller.

Happy Birthday, Marija! My dear friend Marjia turned 17 last week, and it was so much fun celebrating her special day with her. It was also a treat because she invited Becky's parents too. Her sweet mom, Dragisa, served us traditional Serbian food, and all of it was absolutely delicious. But I'm learning to eat just a sampling of everything because the courses just keep coming in Serbia! Julie pulled her ears in Serbian tradition too. We all love Marija so much. I hope all your birthdays wishes come true, my friend!

Samantha and Caleb both enjoyed spending time with Aunt Becky's parents. You can tell that they are grandparents; the kids had a lot of fun playing and talking with them. And yes, Samantha decorated her face with a purple marker while I was trying to have a conversation with them over dinner in the next room.

"Daddy, I can help you today!"

Caleb's friend Milos experiments with taking pictures with our camera.

We had a great time together on Sunday enjoying fellowship, food, and studying the Bible. It was fun to see some of the "older kids" playing with Samantha's toys.

"There was a little girl who had a little curl . . . "

Caleb's reactions when he found out the big news - Aunt Amber is going to have another baby!!

"If no one else is going to put new batteries in this thing, I'm going to do it all by myself!"

Caleb's first day of school! On Monday, we took Caleb to school - he is attending the same school as last year. Like my mother before me, I added extra chaos to the morning by insisting he have his picture taken. "But mom, you took a picture last year!"
Caleb had a great first day. When I asked how his favorite teacher Jelena was doing, he said, "Her hair is different." (I think she is now a blonde.) Samantha sure misses him during the day. When he gets home, she runs to him with her arms straight up and yells, "Ka-ba, heeeeey!"
